Thick and succulent, elongated leaves with strongly recurved edge, completely smooth, visible venation, and measuring 7cm x 3cm. Compact growth habit. Easy to grow.

Blooms: White star-shaped flowers, measuring 20mm, with small margin of red under a pale rose corona. Up to 40 flowers per umbel. Highly perfumed. Flowers last up to 7 days.
Sun exposure: Prefer bright, filtered sunlight. Leaves will darken in darker growing conditions.
Water requirement: Prefers well-drained open potting medium. Requires less water than thinner-leafed ssp. Reduce water over winter.
Maintenance: Low. Fertilise in growing period.
Special note: Australian native. WAOL permitted. Full name - Hoya australis ssp. sanae 'Somerset' Qld IML 0171. Significant variations exist within this subspecies. Damaged plant exudes white sap which is toxic. APQF 102/000086. Warm hoya: best suited to temperatures between 21-35C.
